The print at a glance

A large elephant stands at the heart of the design, framed by a patterned border of small elephants in blue and gold. Around it, rectangular panels show tusked bulls, a mother walking with her calf, and an elephant turned toward the viewer. Tall grass and warm light fill the background of several scenes. Two wide panels show sunsets over the savanna, with acacia trees cut out in black against orange and red skies. Herds move slowly across the horizon, and birds lift into the glow. The mix of close portraits and distant silhouettes gives the print a sense of both intimacy and distance. Geometric bands of color break up the animal scenes, adding rhythm to the layout.
