Blanket Flowers: A Hummingbird Over Purple Blooms

Blanket Flowers show a hummingbird hovering beside a spray of lavender blooms, painted in loose, layered strokes. There is no printed text, so the scene carries everything, and it reads as a quiet moment in a garden. It is made for anyone who notices the small birds that come and go from the flower beds.

A closer look at the print

The hummingbird sits near the center, its wings lifted and blurred as if it has just paused in midair. Its long bill points toward a cluster of purple blossoms that spill down the left side of the design. Behind the bird, soft turquoise and pale blue wash across the background, giving the flowers room to stand out. Green leaves at the top and the painted brushwork make the whole scene feel hand-brushed. Every element belongs to the garden at the height of early summer, when hummingbirds are most often seen working the blooms.

Who will love it

Bird watchers and gardeners tend to notice the hummingbird first, then the lavender. If you keep a feeder or plant flowers that draw birds, this scene will look familiar. Blanket Flowers suit a reading chair on a slow weekend, a sofa where you watch the yard through the window, or a porch swing on a warm evening. It also fits a family room where guests gather and the conversation turns to the birds outside.

Occasions and picks

This blanket makes a thoughtful gift for a gardener's birthday, a new home, or a spring celebration. Give it to someone who keeps a bird bath or a window feeder and watch them recognize the scene. Choose the Fleece Throw or Sherpa Throw for lap-sized comfort, or the Fleece Blanket or Sherpa Blanket for a full bed. Each style carries the same painted hummingbird over the lavender blooms.
