Labrador Lover Blanket: Packed With Golden and Black Labs

Labrador Lover Blanket opens on a crowd of happy faces, a whole pack of Labs pressed shoulder to shoulder across the surface. Nothing is printed as text, so the humor comes from the sheer number of dogs. It was made for anyone whose house runs on fur, slobber and tail thumps.

What the print says

The design is filled edge to edge with Labrador Retrievers in two colors, golden and black. Their heads tilt, their mouths hang open and their ears fall in a dozen directions, so no two faces look the same. The dogs overlap in a tight cluster, and the eye keeps finding another pair of eyes peeking out from behind the one in front.

The artwork is painted in a soft, realistic style with warm highlights on the golden coats and deep shine on the black ones. Some dogs look straight at you, others glance sideways, and a few have their tongues out mid-pant. Together they read as a pack that has gathered around its favorite person, which is exactly how a busy Lab household feels on a typical evening.

The sense of motion is what makes the print work. You can almost hear the tails thumping and the nails clicking across a wood floor. There is no single focal point, just a warm, crowded picture that rewards a longer look every time you pass it.

Who sees themselves in it

The first people to notice this blanket are usually Lab owners, who can name the coat color of every dog on the page. Rescue volunteers and foster families will also recognize the look, since a single house can hold a golden, a black and a rescue mix all at once. Dog-sitters and dog walkers who spend their days among furry friends will feel the design was made for their busy schedules.

You might pull this blanket over your legs while a Lab sprawls across the couch beside you. It also fits a reading chair in a room where the dog has already claimed the best spot. Each time you see the crowd of faces, you are reminded of the wagging welcome waiting at the door.

Meant as a gift

This blanket suits a Lab owner's birthday, when a person who talks about their dog all day will finally have their own pack to cuddle. It also works as a housewarming present for a home that already welcomes dogs, or as a thank-you for a friend who looks after your pets while you are away.

Picture it draped over the back of a couch during a movie night, with a Lab snoozing at your feet and the golden and black faces all watching the screen with you. Choose the Fleece Throw Blanket, Sherpa Throw Blanket, Fleece Blanket or Sherpa Blanket depending on how you like to settle in on a chilly evening.
