Man's Best Friend Blanket for Golden Retriever Lovers

Man's Best Friend Blanket greets you with its phrase across the top, a line people have used about dogs for generations. Below it, a golden retriever splashes through a river at sunset, and the words I'd Rather Be With curve around that scene. If you have ever spent a weekend chasing a retriever through the trees, the mood will feel familiar at once.

What the design shows

The large center picture shows a golden retriever mid-stride in shallow water, its tail raised and its mouth open as spray flies up around its legs. Behind it, dark evergreens line the bank and the sky glows orange where the sun sits low. Lettering arcs above the dog in bold navy, and the name Golden Retriever sits in large green letters below the picture, so the breed is impossible to miss. Around the border, small illustrations fill the space between the phrases. You will see a leather leash, a canvas bag, a lantern, a pair of hiking boots, a treat jar, a bowl with paw prints on it and a frisbee. Several more retrievers appear in different poses, some lying down, some sitting, and one sleeping beside a small fire. Wooden signs carry the words Golden Days and Adventure Buddy, and a round tag reads Good Boy. The result feels like a page from a well-loved field notebook that somebody filled with everything their dog loves.

Who it was made for

This blanket is made for people whose best days include a dog. You may be a retriever owner who has learned that the breed loves water, sticks and a long walk, or you may simply admire the breed from afar. Families with an outdoor streak will recognize the lanterns and boots, and anyone who has packed a treat jar for a trail will spot it right away. Picture yourself on a cool evening with the blanket over your knees while your retriever sleeps on the rug beside you. It is also a natural fit for the person in your life who talks about their dog the way other people talk about a favorite team.

As a gift and every day

This blanket makes a thoughtful choice for birthdays, holidays and thank-you gifts for dog lovers. It can also mark a moment, such as adopting a retriever puppy or celebrating a dog's birthday with the family. Choose the fleece style for everyday lounging on the couch, or the Sherpa style if you want an extra soft layer for chilly nights. Either way, you will have a bright, cheerful piece to wrap up in after a long day outside.
