Now I Lay Blanket: A Prayer Design for Gentle Sleep and Faith

Now I Lay Blanket features the classic bedtime prayer surrounded by whimsical night imagery. The text is printed in soft pink and gold script alongside watercolor stars, clouds, a moon, and a hot air balloon. This design offers comfort and spiritual protection for children as they rest. It is made for families who value tradition and gentle aesthetics in their home decor.

What the design shows

The main subject is the traditional prayer rendered in a mix of sans-serif and elegant script fonts. Golden cursive highlights key words like "Lord" and "Night" to draw the eye through the verses. Surrounding the text are watercolor-style illustrations including a golden crescent moon, scattered five-pointed stars, and puffy pink clouds. A small rainbow arches near the center, while a pink hot air balloon floats near the bottom right. These celestial and dreamlike elements work together to visualize the promise of angels watching and morning light arriving. The composition balances the weight of the words with the lightness of the drawings, creating a cohesive picture of safety and faith.

Who it was made for

Young girls and their families notice the gentle pastel colors and familiar rhyme immediately. Now I Lay Blanket is frequently chosen as a meaningful gift for a christening or first communion. It wraps a child in a tangible reminder of faith during everyday nap times or bedtime routines. Parents appreciate how the design turns a standard prayer into a visual lullaby that soothes both the mind and the room.
