Paint Brushes Blanket for Artists and Art Lovers

Paint Brushes Blanket shows a grid of brush-filled jars, mugs and cups, and every square reads like a small painter's still life. Painters will recognize the setup at once, and anyone who loves a tidy studio will feel the same pull.

A closer look at the print

The largest square shows a rusty metal pail crowded with brushes, their handles in orange, red and blue, with dabs of paint along the rim. Smaller squares repeat the idea in clear glass jars, one filled with a bundle of thin brushes, another standing beside a stack of paint tubes. White ceramic mugs appear too, holding brushes with bristles that catch the light. Some scenes sit on a soft, blurred palette of color, while others sit on bare white tables. Pale blue lines separate each panel, and a striped border of pink, teal and violet frames the whole arrangement. The result feels like a sampler of art supplies, each jar a different mood.

Who will love it

Painters, illustrators and art teachers will notice the brushes first, then the paint tubes and jars that look like they came straight from a working desk. You will also find it appealing if you keep a sketchbook, take a watercolor class or simply enjoy a studio corner. Picture it draped over the arm of a sofa while you read about technique, or folded across a chair in a shared art room. Anyone who keeps brushes within reach will see their own table in these squares.

Occasions and picks

This throw fits a birthday for an artist, a graduation from a fine arts program or a thank-you for a favorite art teacher. It also works as a housewarming gift for someone setting up a new studio. Choose the fleece throw blanket for a lighter drape, the sherpa throw blanket for extra warmth, or the matching fleece blanket or sherpa blanket. Wrap it with a set of brushes and you have a gift that continues the theme.
