Peace Love Goldens Blanket for Golden Retriever Moms

Peace Love Goldens Blanket shows a patchwork of golden retriever sayings, with a smiling golden at its center, and each square says something a golden owner will recognize. The words are playful and affectionate, and they were made for anyone whose home revolves around one of these dogs.

Behind the design

The center square holds a large, open-mouthed golden retriever under the words My Spirit Animal, with a row of smaller dog-and-heart squares around it. Golden retrievers appear in several poses across the grid, running, lounging and sitting, so the print reads like a scrapbook of one breed. Pale green, blue and cream panels frame each saying, and a brown border of paw prints and bones wraps the whole picture. The lettering mixes bold capitals with a handwritten script, which gives the sayings a casual, homemade feel. Peace Love Goldens appears in the top left with a small hand making the peace sign. Around the portraits you will also find lines about being easily distracted, about a home being wherever the dog is, and about a dog's lap being off limits. Every square reads like a note from someone who knows the breed well.

Who gets the joke

The people who laugh first at this blanket are golden retriever owners who have already lost a sock to a dog, already been greeted at the door with a wagging tail, and already sat under a warm dog that refuses to move. The line This Isn't Dog Hair It's Golden Glitter speaks directly to anyone who has spent a week brushing fur off the sofa. Those who love the breed but do not yet own one will also enjoy the warmth of the sayings. Use this blanket on a cold evening when your golden has claimed the other end of the couch, or fold it over the arm of a chair in a room where the dog spends its day. The patchwork makes it easy to find a favorite square each time you look at it.

Gift and choice

This blanket suits a Mother's Day gift for a golden retriever mom, a birthday present for a friend who talks about her dog constantly, or a Christmas stocking addition for a family that dotes on its pet. It is also a sensible choice for a dog lover who wants a cozy throw that shows the breed rather than a generic animal. The design is offered in the Fleece Throw Blanket, Sherpa Throw Blanket, Fleece Blanket and Sherpa Blanket styles, so you can match the texture to the way the blanket will be used. Pick the style that fits the room, wrap it up with a note about your golden, and let the sayings do the rest of the talking.
